Dick Wingate MRTPI, Chartered Town Planner

Dick Wingate

Dick grew up in Ipswich, and joined local government planning departments straight from school.

After spells in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds he moved to Norfolk where he served 26 years with Breckland Council, the last seven as Director of Planning.

Since leaving the Council in 1999, he ran his own planning consultancy, and worked on commercial, farming, and residential schemes for private clients, as well as acting as consultant to local authorities.

In recent years he has developed a strong working relationship with Richard Pike Associates, and is now pleased to be part of the team.

He plans to be active in planning for a few more years and hopes to celebrate 50 years in the profession in 2013.

He is married with four daughters and nine grandchildren, supports Ipswich Town and enjoys golf, gardening, wildlife, photography and water-colouring.
