Strengthening RPA’s journey to excellence by achieving ISO accreditation

RPA, Norwich based building, design and planning specialists, today announced it has achieved the prestigious ISO 9000 accreditation.

The ISO 9000 standard specifies Quality Management System (QMS) requirements focused on an organisation's ability to meet and improve upon customer satisfaction and quality requirements. The requirements are designed to help all types of organisations achieve levels of quality that are recognised and respected internationally.

As a first step toward attaining ISO certification, RPA drafted a comprehensive quality policy, and then developed a quality management system by defining and reviewing current work methods. Once on paper, they were analysed and coordinated to form the basis for making improvements to the design process, customer service and business practices of the office.

In addition to improved planning and productivity, ISO 9000 standards help promote collective intelligence within the company by involving all employees in developing, evaluating and updating management processes.

"This means that everyone participates in the process of improvement," says Peter Roy, business development director "we all benefit from shared intelligence that is documented and coded.

RPA worked toward certification over a period of ten months.

"It's a significant achievement, he added, “we want our clients to know that we have an organised and intelligent process in approaching the design of their buildings and in doing business."

RPA is based in Norwich and operates across the region. They offer a full building, design and planning service working closely with the client and other consultants to tackle all the issues involved in the process. Their success is due to the company’s commitment to innovation, environmentally responsible design and by providing clients with a level of design excellence that strives to exceed expectations.
